Open Office 3.0 Beta examination

First look at Open Office 3.0 Beta (screen shot below) to start testing the new things, I installed it on a VMware workstation XP virtual computer on my linux workstation.   I never install beta’s on my regular workstation and you shouldn’t either, just in case there are unknown issues.

I’ll add more details here, as I try this out more as time permits.

Plans for 64-bit processing support in Photoshop

http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/pdfs/ps_cs3_64-bitsupport_FAQ.pdf

CS4 version of Photoshop announcement above is interesting in that 64bit has been here for some time in Windows XP, but this new version it seems will only work in VISTA 64 bit, well, I guess that says everything that needs to be written, our future is VISTA for those that will use Windows … interesting and prompts many thoughts, got any ?

Three Things to Ponder ….

My younger sister sent me this via email today, with the subject line above.

1. Cows
2. The Constitution
3. The Ten Commandments

C O W S
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

T H E C O N S T I T U T I ON
They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq . Why don’t we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, . . . and we’re not using it anymore.

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post ‘Thou Shalt Not Steal,’ ‘Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,’ and ‘Thou Shall Not Lie’ in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment.
