As we mentioned last week, you can like and reblog posts directly from your reader, which displays a stream of all the updates published on all the blogs you follow from your WordPress.com account.

We’ve also brought the reblog button back to the toolbar that appears at the top of the screen when you’re logged into WordPress.com. Note that you’ll only see the like and reblog options while you’re looking at individual posts.

SOPA Protests Sway Congress: 31 Opponents Yesterday, 122 Now

Yesterday the Internet cried out in protest of SOPA-PIPA, and congress heard us loud and clear. At the beginning of Janaury 18th, there were 80 members of congress who supported the legislation, and 31 opponents. Now, just 63 support SOPA-PIPA, and opposition has surged to 122, according to ProPublica. Thanks TechCrunch.com for sharing

now that’s a list in need. Having just updated to 3.3 it’s good to know that developers of some of the popular plugins that I use already have got the updated versions available, right now. This would be a good time to check that all your plugins are up to date with WordPress 3.3

Fireworks CS5 ….by Adobe

Today I”m installing the trial of Fireworks CS5 (own CS3 version now) the download size is 498MB, wow remember the day when I’d start a download that huge (in the days of dialup) and then just go to bed and install it the next morning. Times have changed, now the “Adobe Download Assistant” says about 30 minutes, lots faster than when downloads took about 7 minutes for each MB of file size.

The installer started, says the total install is 1GB (that took a few minutes more), the startup of the trial asked again for my Adobe ID (that I entered into the Download Assistant already…oh, well. The program has a link that is http://tv.adobe.com/product/fireworks/?trackingid=FBMQH&pss=fw_11.0_win_en_US_trial_0_FW_20040226 an archive of videos for using Fireworks.

Next, clicked Help>Updates and there were some for the CS5 trial that I’d just installed. Peeked at the list (wait and be surprised like I was) the updates will run for several minutes. 3 different adobe applications had updates, required closing CS5 to continue (yes that’s a clue)

The cost of upgrading is $149.00 from CS3 to CS5, the full price is $299.95 50% savings these days is attractive for sure.

The 2011 theme for WordPress is sophisticated, lightweight, and adaptable. Make it yours with a custom menu, header image, and background — then go further with available theme options for light or dark color scheme, custom link colors, and three layout choices. Usually it’ first of the year sort of thing, but in reading about the Twenty Eleven theme I decided now what time to change things to this new theme.
